The Real Housewives of Sydney Season 1 Episode 9 Recap
Episode Nine takes us back to Singapore as we look at part two of our adventure.
In reality, we filmed for eight days in Singapore and had many fun times throughout the trip, however, we are only able to distil the trip down to two short hours...

The episode opens at Marina Bay Sands where Krissy, AthenaX and I have met for a swim at the 57th floor infinity pool.
I don't think any of us slept much at all the night before - everything was turning in my head and I wasn't sure if I'd even continue my holiday or go back to Sydney alone. I just don't understand how everyone can move on from what has happened so quickly - and I don't find any of the screaming and carry on worth it.
At this point, I'm not getting any pleasure hanging out with these girls as a group. One on one, I genuinely enjoy their company - but together? It feels like an explosion.

Whilst the three of us are debriefing about the intricacies of the drama of last night, I'm musing that the greatest tragedy of the evening was that, once again, I had missed out on my dessert.
To clarify, I'm half Lebanese, half Swedish - and dessert is very important to me. It's the cornerstone of any meal!
In all seriousness though, we all agree that we were shocked about how the evening transpired - and we all agreed that Victoria owed AthenaX an apology.
In our best efforts to make AthenaX feel like we were beginning a new chapter in our friendship, Krissy and I decided to give AthenaX a rebirth of sorts by submerging her in the water. I promise we weren't trying to drown her!
Melissa, Matty and Lisa then hit the shops for some retail therapy. As Lisa wasn't present at the last evening's events, the girls decided to fill her in about how the conversation turned on what occurred at the Victor Chang Foundation charity event and the appearance of Lizzie Buttrose to shake things up.
When Matty asked Lisa about whether she had sent Lizzie to cause trouble or not she didn't really give a direct answer about how Lizzie came to be at the event when clearly she wasn't invited.
Matty rightly asked Lisa to refrain from constantly making vile and baseless attacks about Krissy. I agree with Matty that it makes us all uncomfortable - and it's rather monotonous as well.

We all unite for the first time this trip at Adrift Restaurant for lunch.
I was immediately pleased and relieved that Victoria apologised to AthenaX as I thought this might be the only barrier to us having a peaceful and enjoyable lunch.
Little did I know, however, that another kind of drama was about to unfold...
Lisa once again lashes out at Krissy about her imagined behaviour. This whole time we have not been able to understand where Lisa's extreme hatred for Krissy has come from - or how anything that Krissy had said would warrant even a fraction of the nastiness Lisa had projected.
Lisa then admits that AthenaX has been the one telling her that Krissy has mocked her and her marriage problems - which is all untrue, by the way.

I have always tried to remain neutral between Lisa and Krissy as they are both longtime friends of mine, however, I interject at this point to give Lisa my advice which is; if you haven't heard it or seen it with your own eyes or ears then don't believe it!
This is what I also live my life by and why I tend not to believe nastiness third hand. Usually the messenger is motivated by their own self-interest - and in this case it was certainly true. AthenaX needed to make Lisa her ally and it was important that she placed the other girls against both of them to secure her place as she could see that she had little chance of fitting in otherwise.
I haven't been put in this position during the show as most of the nastiness has been given directly to me! Lisa's attitude to Krissy has really puzzled me since she not only formed her opinion from hearsay, but her meaningless "slut-shaming" does not do her intelligence any justice and is totally uncalled for.
I also don't understand why Lisa, who is an extremely intelligent woman, wouldn't have approached earlier about what she had heard and her concerns. I find it rather baffling that Lisa would have let it fester for so long without addressing it. AthenaX is a very new friend to Lisa, they only met through the show a few months previously and it just doesn't make sense as to why Lisa chose to jeopardise her friendships with all the other girls by believing AthenaX.
When Lisa puts AthenaX on the spot and asks her to admit that she has been filling her head with this nonsense, AthenaX doesn't own up to it - ultimately resulting in Lisa and AthenaX turning on each other. When this occurred, I was not at all surprised as the two girls could not be more different. Lisa is clearly surprised that AthenaX distances herself from Lisa's reaction and finally admits that her behaviour, particularly at the gallery was wrong.
It really is quite disturbing to hear Lisa in her master interview reflection admitting that, in fact, her apology to Krissy was disingenuous.
This made me so upset, and so disappointed that we hadn't infact moved on as it appeared.
On a happier note, it is so uplifting to watch Victoria meet her sister Lucy from the US for the very first time!
It is amazing to be able to be present at this life changing event.
Even more amazing is watching the similarities of the two sisters slowly emerge, namely that Victoria and Lucy have the same taste in drinks - Skinny Bitches!
I felt so emotional hearing the story of how their father died coincidentally on Austin's birthday.

That night we all head to the Empire Lounge for drinks. All the girls looked both relaxed and gorgeous.
Just as Victoria predicted, the minute Krissy is introduced to Lucy she is in tears. We can't help but notice, as Lisa rightly points out, Victoria looks genuinely happy - and there is no sign at all of her resting bitch face when Lucy is around!
It appeared, for only a slight moment, that in fact, we might all have a peaceful fun evening together.

But as we all know by now, that's just not how things work with this group of girls.
It amazes me that we are able to go from laughing one minute to full blown war in a matter of seconds as AthenaX then decided she wanted to have it out with Lisa about Krissy. Victoria is begging everyone to not start anything as Lucy is present - but they are both pointing the figure at the other for being the source of the problem.
Athena had clearly been eyeing off a table to grab and throw as she had threatened to do from last week - but luckily this one proved to be quite heavy so a table slam had to suffice.
Luckily, Victoria and Lucy walk off as she tried to shield her younger sister from the crossfire.
Once again Lisa puts AthenaX on the spot and once again, AthenaX throws Krissy under the bus. I was shocked when AthenaX commented that she doesn't behave for anyone. It really sums up her personality and makes it all the more understandable why she isn't included in anything. There are certain social etiquettes that she just doesn't want to conform to.
To lighten the tone, Melissa and Victoria head to Little India for some bargain shopping.
Whilst Victoria and Melissa are busy shopping, Krissy, Athena and Matty go for a facial - which sounded like a fabulous idea until they found out that the secret ingredient was bird poo!
In a sign that their friendship is maturing, Krissy lost a game of scissors, paper, rock and ended up with the stinky facial - whilst AthenaX had the Hannibal Lector style mask instead.
This approach seemed to work as AthenaX very kindly apologises to Krissy - but Krissy rightly made it clear that her apology is meaningless unless she keeps her behaviour in check from now on.

We then head to the Intercontinental Hotel Presidential Suite for drinks and dinner on our last dinner in Singapore - with a notable exception; Victoria is nowhere to be seen.
I had bumped into Victoria in the lift on my way up and she had told me that she was feeling exhausted and that she felt a cold brewing. I can't blame her, what an emotionally exhausting week she must have had with meeting her sister. Room service and a movie sounded like the perfect evening - and I was feeling slightly jealous. Poor Krissy was clearly disappointed that Victoria hadn't made it to dinner and once again, it feels like Victoria has let her down.

Luckily, Victoria's absence didn't stop the rest of us from having a great time and I brought out my favourite party trick; knotting a cherry stem with my tongue!!

It was all fun and laughter - but we all know those moments don't last very long around here....
By the time we sit down to dinner, AthenaX and Lisa are back at it attacking each other. There's no denying it; Lisa and AthenaX are a toxic combination and I only have one thing to say..... TAKE ME HOME!
But before we head back to Sydney on the show, be sure to check back here tomorrow for my Behind the Scenes post. I'll be sharing our full filming schedule (which, surprisingly, isn't quite in the order that you see on the show!) as well as lots of behind the scenes photos and scenes that ended up on the cutting room floor.
Until then,
