Matty Shopping in Double Bay - The Real Housewives of Sydney Episode 6 Recap Season 1

After the fallout from the gallery opening, all of the girls were feeling a bit overwhelmed. The episode starts with Matty planning her Persian party to celebrate the Persian New Year.

Nicole meets Athena for a Glass of Wine in Double Bay - The Real Housewives of Sydney Episode 6 Recap Season 1

AthenaX had contacted me, asking if I'd like to meet her for a drink at Vine in Double Bay to discuss my charity event, The Foodtruck Fund.

What can I say other than I had no idea what I was about to walk into....

Whilst I was apprehensive about going after the art gallery disaster, a part of me felt that it wasn't possible to turn such a positive thing as raising funds for The Cure Brain Cancer Foundation into something negative...... but as I've discovered time and time again, AthenaX always knows how to make a situation, even a selfless one, all about her.

Even watching the episode back now, I simply cannot believe how AthenaX attacks me. She went on a tirade. Between mocking and mimicking me and attacking my appearance, there was one insult after another and she just wouldn't let up.

I was disgusted and appalled - but I was determined to keep my composure and not let her bring me down. In reality, this attack went on for so much longer than what the made it to the episode, and I left Vine embarrassed for her and her family. I walked out shaking and spent the next few days with the conversation running through my head over and over again.

I really believed that there had to be something more below the surface causing AthenaX to go after another woman so visciously.

We then move to a more serious topic; Victoria’s search for her father.

After leaving when she was just two years old, Victoria's father's whereabouts was a mystery to all and she was desperately hoping a private investigator would give her some much longed for answers.

To hear the sad and tragic story of what happened to Victoria's Dad was heartbreaking - but the positive from this search is that Victoria has found out that she has three half siblings - and that really is an incredible silver lining.

Lisa and AthenaX Go Shopping - The Real Housewives of Sydney Episode 6 Recap Season 1

Next, it's another shopping trip for AthenaX - this time she's on a mission to revamp Lisa's style.

Personally, I think Lisa's style is always immaculate - and totally unique to her. Just the thought of AthenaX trying to transpose her eccentric ideas on Lisa is ridiculous.

AthenaX Blames Nicole - The Real Housewives of Sydney Episode 6 Recap Season 1

During the failed personal shopping adventure, AthenaX tells Lisa that I didn't stand up for her - and also that I had attacked her (AthenaX) when we met at Vine.

To hear Lisa say that I've changed - and  that I'm a wanker, fake and boring - was incredibly hurtful, particularly since she chose to believe AthenaX's lies.

I did, in fact, reach out to both Lisa and David and had called and texted them both - but I was also wary of pushing too hard as I didn't want to feel overbearing and I also didn't want to keep bringing these issues to the forefront of their minds or make the issue bigger than it already was.

I feel like, if Lisa had a problem with me, she should have talked to me about it herself - not talked about me behind my back. The key to building, maintaining and rebuilding relationships with others is honesty - even if being honest is hard to do.

Melissa and Nicole Chatting Whilst Nicole Gets a Facial - The Real Housewives of Sydney Episode 6 Recap Season 1

Melissa came to visit me while I was having a facial as I was still really shaken up and needed to offload to someone about what had happened at Vine.

This was a time where I really needed an outside perspective to try and reconcile my own thoughts and feelings - but the only thing we could confirm was that we were both nervous about walking into Matty's Persian party and what we might be confronted by.

Krissy, Victoria and Nicole at Matty's Persian Party - The Real Housewives of Sydney Episode 6 Recap Season 1

We walked into Matty's party to find Persian perfection.

Matty had gone to so much trouble and I was so pleased to hear that Lisa and AthenaX had promised not to ruin Matty's night - and I was really hopeful that, for once, things might go smoothly...

Unfortunately it didn't take long for all hope to be lost...

Once the caviar came out and AthenaX started dictating how much we could and couldn't eat, she totally tipped me over the edge.

All of the pent up hostility I had from keeping my cool at Vine was bubbling to the surface. Whilst I saw no point in sinking to her level - I had totally had enough.

Talk to my 6 carat diamond, you bitch!

I had reached boiling point. I'm appalled at my own behaviour at the party and I am so embarrassed that I sunk to AthenaX's level and responded to her - but she had totally pushed me to the limit.

All I can say is, as the night went on, it became clearer that AthenaX really does not have insight into her own behaviour. On one hand, she honestly seems to believe that she hasn't run down anyone's appearance - but when we begin to list the personal attacks (from calling Victoria fat to Captain Eyebrows), she stands by what she says.

It was confusing and exhausting and I was really at a loss as to how to move forward with her.

AthenaX Talks About Her Abuse - The Real Housewives of Sydney Episode 6 Recap Season 1

I think, at the point where AthenaX admitted that she had been abused as a child, all of her behaviour began to make more sense.

I feel incredibly sad for her and what she has suffered. She is clearly holding onto so much pain and explains that is where her anger is coming from. I am really hopeful that now she has revealed her past to everyone - she will get the professional help she so desperately needs to deal with her pain.

And that's where we leave this episode...
