Real Housewives of Sydney Season 1 Episode 2 Recap

Real Housewives of Sydney Series One Episode Two Recap

Episode two opens with all of the girls reflecting on the tumultuous events of my Welcome Home Party, which was the first time all of the girls had officially met.

Krissy and Victoria Eating Jatz Crackers - The Real Housewives of Sydney Episode 2 Season 1 Recap S01E02

We start with Krissy catching up with Victoria at her gorgeous Bondi apartment, indulging on none other than Jatz Crackers!

It was here that Victoria really opens up to Krissy about her childhood. I was blown away. I'm so lucky to be surrounded by family (seriously, so much family...) and hearing her incredibly sad story broke my heart. I can't even imagine having to grow up without my father. I really hope she is successful in her search for her Dad.

I wasn't surprised that Krissy became so emotional because her family really is her everything - and she desperately wants that for Victoria.

Melissa and AthenaX go shopping - The Real Housewives of Sydney Episode 2 Season 1 Recap S01E02

Melissa and AthenaX go vintage clothing shopping as AthenaX is desperate to pull Melissa out of what she calls her "golden era".

Personally, I think Melissa always looks amazing and thought that comment was a little bit harsh - but, for the record, that Pucci jacket really did look amazing on her!

Melissa confronts AthenaX - The Real Housewives of Sydney Episode 2 Season 1 Recap S01E02

Melissa tries to help AthenaX reflect on the events of my party, trying to give her some perspective that perhaps she was being overly sensitive about some of the girls' attitudes and comments towards her.

Interestingly, AthenaX rebuffs her completely, calling her "darling" - an endearment that AthenaX herself found condescending and offensive in Episode 1 when "darling" was directed towards her.

Nicole Chats with Lisa - The Real Housewives of Sydney Episode 2 Season 1 Recap S01E02

I give Lisa a call to smooth things over as there was quite a lot of hostility between her and Krissy when we were last together. I try my best to reassure her that Krissy is a gorgeous person, that there is not a mean bone in her body and that I am really hopeful they can put aside their differences as they're both special friends to me...... here's hoping!

Without a doubt, the most fun I had filming was when I was with my girls, Nawal and Neve.

I love cooking and baking with them. We always have so much fun together and I love seeing the world through their eyes.

Nawal and Neve Cooking - The Real Housewives of Sydney Episode 2 Season 1 Recap S01E02

Adam and I raised our girls with an understanding of how important it is to be grateful - and to always do what you can to help those less fortunate, both in attitude and actions.

The delicious cupcakes we were baking were actually the same recipe we perfected for our RSPCA Cupcake Day Stand last year (you can get the recipe here) when we baked over 500 cupcakes and raised over $3500 for the RSPCA.

Nicole and Neve Cooking - The Real Housewives of Sydney Episode 2 Season 1 Recap S01E02

In this scene, the girls and I also talk about the big differences between London and Sydney. One of the fantastic things about living in London is that you're so close to everything! Being able to catch the train to Paris for lunch or flying to New York was such an incredible novelty and perk – and we'd often buy last minute tickets for £30 to be in a completely different city in just a matter of hours!

It was very important to us to show our girls the world and given that we didn't know how long we'd be in London, we really made the most of it.

I truly believe that travel opens up the mind and hugely increases not only understanding, but also more importantly tolerance in each other. I think we desperately need more of that in the world.

The girls and I also chatted about school and activities as my girls had such a huge adjustment to make, as they had only started their new school the week before. As a Mum, I’m so proud of how well the girls have adjusted, having gone through so many changes and how they've just  taken them in their stride.

My little legends! Now, before the collective eye-roll about fencing - I need to point out that fencing in the UK is as common as playing netball here. Seriously! When blue sky days are few and far between, indoor sports are always incredibly popular!

We all know how lucky we are to be back in Australia, and the girls can now experience new sports like sailing which they had never done before and never would have dreamed of doing in London. Whilst we loved our time in London, we are so blessed to be back outside in the fresh air and sunshine of Sydney.

Did You Fart Neve - The Real Housewives of Sydney Episode 2 Season 1 Recap S01E02

Probably the funniest moment of that scene is when Nawal asked Neve if she farted…. And that is exactly why they call the show The “Real” Housewives.

Krissy at Home with Family

Next, we see Lisa and Krissy with their respective families. I love these scenes the most as everyone is always so much more at ease with their loved ones and not defending themselves!

Nicole, Krissy and Victoria at Lunch - The Real Housewives of Sydney Episode 2 Season 1 Recap S01E02

The next event that brings all the girls together is Victoria’s white themed lunch at Ormeggio. It was a stunning day on the water and we were all wearing as little as possible to ensure Victoria couldn’t throw anything else in the water!

Victoria had asked all the girls to wear white, and I think it looked very elegant.

Lisa Oldfield's Amy Winehouse Comment - The Real Housewives of Sydney Episode 2 Season 1 Recap S01E02

Krissy was upset about Lisa’s recent social media comments, but having known her for a long time I understand that whilst sometimes Lisa misjudges what might be humorous, that’s just who she is.

Similarly, AthenaX seems to misjudge what Krissy says to be some kind of insult against her, when in reality it’s just Krissy being funny and having a joke – not a personal attack.

The Olive Branch Scene - The Real Housewives of Sydney Episode 2 Season 1 Recap S01E02

AthenaX extends an olive branch - but the peace is very short lived.

AthenaX was asked to clarify the origin of her name, which I thought to be a natural curiosity – but apparently it was insulting to ask the question at all. As I said, when AthenaX talks it is in a lecture form and spoken condescendingly, with the assumption that we are all of inferior intelligence.

The Lunch Disaster - The Real Housewives of Sydney Episode 2 Season 1 Recap S01E02

Finally, AthenaX accuses Matty of being fake and she seemed genuinely surprised that Matty would be insulted by the comment. Sadly, that ended the lunch prematurely and once again, no dessert for me!

And just like that, we’re on the count down until Episode 3…. And it doesn’t look like the drama stops here.
